Canary Island date Palm is a tree-like palm that can grow up to 15m or more, with a stout trunk and spreading deep green leaves to 5m in length, divided into many linear leaflets; drooping panicles of creamy-yellow flowers, followed by reddish-yellow fruits
This is a large deciduous flowering shrub or a small tree, which will develop lovely glossy foliage and edible fruit known as jujube or Chinese date. The shrub is frost tolerant, so it will grow well in colder climate as long as it is positioned in a sunny and sheltered area of the garden.
