The Portia Tree (Thespesia populnea), also known as the Indian Tulip tree or Pacific Rosewood, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree known for its showy, hibiscus-like flowers and heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are bright yellow with a dark maroon or red centre when they first open, but they can change colour to a deeper maroon, pink, or purple as they age.
This is a large deciduous flowering shrub or a small tree, which will develop lovely glossy foliage and edible fruit known as jujube or Chinese date. The shrub is frost tolerant, so it will grow well in colder climate as long as it is positioned in a sunny and sheltered area of the garden.
The packaging of this product is fully compostable, so once you have finished with it, it can be added to the compost heap, so nothing goes to landfill.
This is a striking ornamental shrub or small tree producing large clusters of unusual flowers above evergreen compound leaves. It will do well in moist conditions. It is very fast growing, but is frost sensitive, so must be protected when hard frost is expected. In some countries the large flowers are uses for culinary purposes. The young plant is also great for creating a bonsai tree.

The Yellow Flame Tree, also known as Copper Rod Tree, is a striking tree with beautiful large fragrant, crinkly-petalled, bright yellow flowers, which form pods which are up to 10 cm long and 2 cm broad, and are red at first, ripening to dark brown/black. It is a deciduous tropical tree, so is frost tender – can be grown in large containers and protected in winter or in the ground where hard frost is not common.
