The Portia Tree (Thespesia populnea), also known as the Indian Tulip tree or Pacific Rosewood, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree known for its showy, hibiscus-like flowers and heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are bright yellow with a dark maroon or red centre when they first open, but they can change colour to a deeper maroon, pink, or purple as they age.

In maturity it will produce large fruits described as tasting of marmalade and smelling of roses.
