Ammi Visnaga is a hardy annual or a short lived perennial with upright stems that are topped with big (up to 12cm across) flower clusters. Initially flattened and lime green, these flowerheads gradually become dome-shaped, and open to greenish-white flowers. Great for cutting. The flowers will also attract butterflies and bees to your garden. Ideal for filling gaps in borders as it will reach height of up to 80 cm.

Sowing: Ammi is easy to grow and the seeds can be sown directly into a well prepared bed where they are to flower from March to July. They will do well in any well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Thin when seedlings are large enough. Alternatively, they can be grown inside in containers from February onwards or in autumn and then planted out. Sow the seeds using fine seed compost and transplant once the seedlings are large enough.

Flowers: June/July to September/October
