Chickpeas are small leaved annual legumes, growing about knee-high and will produce small pods where the chickpea will be harvested from. They are fun to grow, and the feathery plants will produce lovely flowers, so great to grow in any garden. Prefer full sun and moist, rich soil. This variety will produce large seeds with tender skin.

Sowing: The seeds can be soaked 8-12 hours to help with germination, but it not essential. Sow the seeds either directly in prepared bed or in trays of fine compost around 2 cm deep. Keep the soil moist but do not overwater or let dry out. The seedlings will appear between 7 days and 3 weeks.

Tip: The paper towel method can also be used to speed up the germination of the seeds.
