This beautiful, fast growing shrub will make any garden look stunning with its striking trumpet shaped flowers and large leaves. It will make an impressive container plant, too.

Sowing: Growing datura is relatively easy. To speed up germination, soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Then sow them in fine compost and cover with vermiculite or fine sand as the seeds need light to germinate. Keep moist and place in a warm, light place of up to 25-27°C. The seeds should germinate between 3 to 8 weeks. Once the first true leaves have developed, pot on the seedlings in larger containers of fine compost.

Tip: Datura  can make an excellent indoor conservatory plant.
