The packaging of this product is fully compostable, so once you have finished with it, it can be added to the compost heap, so nothing goes to landfill.

This is a tall, green colored spiny bamboo species consisting of a large number of heavily branched, closely growing culms. It will make a great addition to any garden adding structure and height. 

Sowing:  Fill a tray with good quality compost and moisten it. Leave the tray in a propagator or cover it with plastic for 24 hours so the soil warms up but make sure it does not get too hot as that could kill the seeds. Soak the seeds in tepid water for 24 hours.  Space your seeds out on top of your warm compost at 1cm intervals and sprinkle a further fine layer of compost on top (approx 0.5cm). Place your propagator or tray somewhere away from direct sunlight. Check daily the soil is moist, water gently if necessary. The seeds should germinate between 10 and 30 days. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, pot them on individually in 4cm pots in potting mix with good drainage. Water well and store in a place away from direct sunlight.

Tip: If would be good for the young bamboo plants to spend the first winter indoors or in a greenhouse.
