A perennial bushy plant that will grow up to a height of up to 60 cm.
The top 20 cm of the branches are usually picked before the flowers have withered.
It is used as a medicinal herb with various uses and also will make an aromatic herbal tea.
Sowing: Growing St John’s Wort from seed is easy. Sow the seeds indoors 6 – 8 weeks before the last frost, or outside after danger of frost has passed. Press the seeds into the soil, but do not cover it as the seed will germinate better with light. Pot the seedlings on when they are strong enough to handle.
Tip: As a medicinal herb, St John’s Wort is very effective in treating various conditions.
