Lupin Hartwegii is an annual variety of lupin with long flower spikes on tall stems. It will brighten every garden putting a stunning display. Looks at its best when planted in groups. Will make a lovely cut flower and will grow up to 70 cm in height.

 Sowing: Lupins are easy to grow and the seeds can be sown directly into a well prepared bed where they are to flower. They will do well in any well-drained soil in full sun. Sow direct only when the soil is warm enough and all danger from frost has passed. Alternatively, they can be grown inside in containers and then planted out. Sow the seeds using fine seed compost and pot on once the seedlings are large enough and have developed true leaves. Germination can take between 14 to 24 days days at temperature from 16°C to 25°C. Lupin seeds can also be sown direct in autumn to flower the following year.
