Peanuts are easy to grow in a home garden. They will do well in a sandy, well-draining soil and can be grown successfully in pots. The plant will grow up to around 30 cm above the soil level and will flower around 30-40 days after sowing. After flowering the seedpods will penetrate the soil to mature and form the peanuts. They will be ready to harvest around 160 days after sowing when the foliage turns yellow.

Sowing: Sow the seeds in loose, sandy soil in mid to late spring in pots in the greenhouse or outside in a sheltered position in full sun. Peanut seeds need lots of warmth to germinate and grow, so the temperature they are placed in should be maintained at around 15C to 22C. Sow the seeds around 5-7 cm deep and Keep well watered.
