Sunflower Evening Sun is an annual with red and brown shaded petals, dark centre and medium sized blooms. It will grow up to 2m and will brighten every garden putting a stunning display. Will make a lovely cut flower.

Sowing: Sunflowers are easy to grow and the seeds can be sown directly into a well prepared bed where they are to flower. They will do well in any well-drained soil in full sun. Sow direct only when the soil is warm enough and all danger from frost has passed. Alternatively, they can be grown inside in containers and then planted out. Sow the seeds using fine seed compost and pot on once the seedlings are large enough and have developed true leaves. Germination can take between 6 to 14 days at temperature from 18°C to 25°C.

Flowers: July to September/October

Tip: Once the flowering period has come to an end, leave the mature flower head out for the birds, as they love sunflower seeds
