Rudbeckia is an annual with upright stems that are topped with magnificent, large blooms in beautiful colours. Great for cutting. The flowers will also attract butterflies and bees to your garden. Ideal for filling gaps in borders as it will reach height of up to 90 cm.
Sowing: Rudbeckia seeds are best started indoors in containers from February- March onwards. Sow the seeds using fine seed compost, cover lightly with compost and keep at temperature of around 22°C to 25°C. Keep moist but do not overwater. Seedlings should appear between 7 and 14 days. Transplant once the seedlings are large enough.
Flowers: June/July to September/October
Tip: Plant in large groups to achieve a dramatic effect.
