The West Indian Mahogany Tree is a striking tree with reddish bark and beautiful shape when fully developed. It is a deciduous tree and can grow to a height of 30m and above. Highly valued for its timber and also a great decorative addition to larger gardens

Sowing: Growing Mahogany Tree from seed is relatively easy. Place the seeds in well-drained, fine compost, cover lightly with some compost or fine grit and keep moist at regular temperature of 22°C to 24°C. The seeds should germinate between 4 to 8 weeks but sometimes may take longer. Once the first true leaves have developed, pot on the seedlings in larger containers.

Tip: Cover the growing container with a plastic cover or lid to create a greenhouse effect and retain moisture.
