The Kusum Tree is a striking tree with reddish bark and red leaves when fully matured. It will grow up to a height of 3 m or can be restricted in a large pot and kept as a house pant or a patio tree.

Sowing: Growing the Kusum Tree from seed is relatively easy. Place the seeds in well-drained, fine compost, cover lightly with some compost or fine grit and keep moist at regular temperature of 15°C to 20°C. The seeds should germinate between 4 to 8 weeks but sometimes may take longer. Once the first true leaves have developed, pot on the seedlings in larger containers.

Tip: To speed up the germination, prior to sowing, the seeds can be soaked for 24 hours or gently scarified so water can penetrate
